Evelyn Crowell Cottongim

Funeral services for Evelyn Cottongim, age 80 of Jewett, will be held 1 P.M., Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Allen Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church in Jewett, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Leona Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place before the service from 12 noon to service time.

Evelyn Crowell Cottongim was born November 12, 1939 in Pasadena, Texas to J.T. & Nicie Naomi (Pirtle) Dennis. She worked most of her life in grocery stores as a manager, but Evelyn’s true calling was caring for her family and those who needed help. She had even received her C.N.A. license along with her daughter. Evelyn loved her family and spoiled her grandchildren and great, grandchildren quite often. She had lived in Jewett for the past twenty-years, coming from Kirbyville and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jewett.

Evelyn passed away December 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Russel O’Neil Cottongim; son, Donald E. Enyart, Jr.; brother, Ronald L. Dennis; sister, Lavern Zula Dennis and grandsons, Rickey Dale Enyart, Jr. and Donald Eugene Enyart, III.

Surviving family members include sons, Rickey D. Enyart (Trina), Bobby W. Enyart & Robert W. Cottongim, all of Jewett; daughters, Vickie L. Steveson & Naomi J. Brown, both of Jewett; sister, Laura Clark of New Branufels; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
