Ethel Mae Hudson

March 22, 1936 — August 3, 2020

Ethel Mae Hudson was born March 22, 1936 in San Augustine County, Texas. Her parents were Lee and Pearl (Luman) Sullivan. She was a housewife and homemaker for most of her life. She lived near Buffalo since 2007 and worshiped at the United Pentecostal Church, Madisonville.

Ethel enjoyed singing, especially in church. She loved her home, her flowers and the hummingbirds in her yard. She was always trying to make her home more comfortable and often rearranged her furniture for that purpose. She also collected knickknacks and used those to decorate the rooms of the house. Ethel passed away at her home on August 3, 2020.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers, Cecil Childress and Charles Childress. Surviving family includes her husband, Clayton Hudson of Buffalo; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Roger Dale and Reta Blackburn of Deer Park, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Jimmy Franks of Aldine, TX and Patricia Gay and Michael Walker of Galena Park, TX; grandchildren, Billy Max Blackburn (Misty), Tamara Cox (Russell), Roland C. Franks, Michael C. Walker (Katherine) and Crystal Donahoe (Calvin); great grandchildren, Charity Herman (Jonathan), Dylan Blackburn,Travis Cox, Everett Donahoe, Bethany Donahoe, Omari Donahoe, Hannah Martinez, Caleb Franks and Moriah Reyes and great great granddaughter Mexia Jane Herman

A visitation is set for 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville with a funeral service scheduled for Friday morning at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. Rev. Don Grigsby, Rev. Roger Blackburn and Rev. Bill Blackburn will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers: Bill Blackburn, Russell Cox, Calvin Donahoe, Michael Walker, Dylan Blackburn and Jonathan Herman.
