The Brison family will be present to receive friends Saturday morning from 10:30 A.M. to service time at the church.

Emory Dale Brison was born February 2, 1945 in Lancaster, Ohio. At a young age, Emory went to live in Fairfield County Boys Home in Lancaster, Ohio where he was raised through his teenage years. He was a member of the U.S. Army. Emory met the love of his life and late wife, Theresa Yvonne Ogg, through family connections. While living in Ohio, Emory worked at Modern Plumbing and Sears Roofing. He and Theresa relocated their family to Texas in the early 1980's and continued to work in roofing and construction. In the early 1990's the Brison family settled in Leona, Texas where Emory and Theresa remained the rest of their lives. Emory took a job in the oilfield industry and worked there for many years until he found employment with TransOva. It was in his work where Emory found his greatest happiness. He loved working and staying busy, but especially at TransOva. He always felt that his coworkers were a pleasure to work with, as well. Emory also loved riding his tractor and working with cattle.

On the few occasions he wasn't working you could find Emory watching westerns and football. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Most days he wouldn't admit it, but he was a closet Cowboys fan. Emory was often described as a quiet man, but once he got to know someone they soon found his great sense of humor.

Emory was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Louise Koontz Helmick; wife, Theresa Brison; sisters, Becky McGuire and Sissy Davis; brother, Dean Helmick and grandson, Derek Brison.

Surviving family members include sons, Bradley Brison (Pat) of Garland, Dale Brison (Paige) of Royse City and Randy Brison (Ginny) of Garland; daughter, Kimberly Hamilton (Wesley) of Leona; brothers, Tom Brison (Judy), Jim Brison (Sandy), Hayden Helmick, Georgie Connor (C.F.) and Marvine Mabie (Steve); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as special nephews, Richard Helmick, James McGuire and Jonathan McGuire.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
