A team photo is displayed in the Wagstaff Gym on the TJC campus in Tyler.

They adopted two daughters, Lori & Sheri, which Earl always felt was one of the best days of his life. He and Betty raised their family in the Port Arthur and Groves, Texas areas where Earl worked for Texaco and retired after forty-two years. They moved back to Leon County where the couple lived out their days enjoying retirement. Earl was a member of both Parker and Brushy Cemetery Boards, as well as an instrumental member of the Leon County Genealogical Society for a number of years. He was also a supporter of the Lone Star Community Center. Although raised Baptist in his younger years, Earl attended the First United Methodist Church in Centerville, Texas.
