Graveside services for Dorothy G. Lee, age 89, will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Siloam Cemetery, southeast of Buffalo, Texas. Pastor Lloyd Lane, of Miracle Christian Center in Buffalo, will officiate the service. Mrs. Lee passed away peacefully March 17, 2020 in Jewett, Texas.
Dorothy G. Lee was born February 1, 1931 in Leon County, Texas to Rush & Marietta (Page) Gore. She was one of six children. Dorothy married James Norman Lee December 4, 1953 and they made their home in Pasadena, Texas. While James worked, Dorothy took care of the home and their children. They moved back to Leon County in 1983 where Dorothy lived the remainder of her life. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, but nothing brought her more joy then being a “Memaw.”
Dorothy was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, James Norman Lee; siblings, Travis, Daphyne, Rueben, Alma Lynn & Ottis and great grandson, Case Roper Schupp. Her legacy will live on through her son, Robert Lee (Norma Gordon) of Buffalo; daughter, Janet Chesney (Bennie) of Buffalo; grandchildren, April Gibson (Gene) of Longview, James Schupp (Paula) of Jewett, Shannon Chesney (Crystal) of Sumpter, S.C., Brandon Lee of Houston, Elizabeth Pabõn (Victor) of Tyler and Stephen Lee of Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Caleb Schupp, Faith O’Connor, Louren Watson, James Gibson, Destiny Gibson, Jocelyn Schupp, Jadyn Schupp, James Norman Schupp, Kaylee Chesney, Danny Lee & Evelyn Lee, as well as, great, great-grandchildren, Bailey Schupp & Joseph O’Connor. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
