Homegoing services for Mrs. Della Lee Johnson, age 90, of Sugar Land, and formerly of Madisonville, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Two Mile United Methodist Church in Leona, Texas. Rev. Regina Greenwood will officiate the service. Committal services will follow in the Two Mile Paradise Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until service time at the church on Saturday.
Della Lee Johnson was born December 1, 1928 to Joe & Eugene (Barthley) Wynn. She accepted Christ into her heart and was baptized at an early age. Mrs. Johnson was currently a member of the Two Mile United Methodist Church in Leona. She loved singing, cooking, going to church, watching soap-operas, sewing, gardening and having her grandchildren around. Mrs. Johnson had lived most of her life in Madisonville and had spent the last six years in Sugar Land to be near her family. She passed away on her ninetieth birthday, December 1, 2018 in a Sugar Land hospital. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Connie V. Johnson; daughters, Evelyn Johnson & Virginia Johnson; son, Johnny Johnson; infant son, James Ray Johnson and great granddaughter, Da’Mya Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Della Jo Williams (Andrew) of Houston, Johnnie F. Lotts of Houston, Zelda Turner (Edward) of Houston, Lorie Johnson of Houston and Peggy Johnson of Dallas; brother, Eathan Wynn (Pearl) of Dallas; sisters, Ida Reed of Leona, Florine Chambers of Dallas and Mary Lankford of Dallas, as well as, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
