Delbert McKinney, 61, of Centerville passed away suddenly November 10, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services have been set for 10 A.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bros. James & Jim Bob Gunnels will officiate the service and interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Crockett, Texas. A public visitation will take place from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Friday, November 11th at the funeral home.

Delbert Lennis McKinney was born on March 13, 1955 in Crockett, Texas to Delbert Leon & Margie Lee (Shoemaker) McKinney. He retired from his profession as a roughneck after nearly thirty-five years and was enjoying the simple life. This included numerous hours of fishing and hunting, which were Delberts favorite pastimes. He also loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren and children. Delbert had lived in Centerville for the past twenty-five years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

Delbert was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Leon McKinney; brother, David McKinney and infant nephew, Vernon Wayne Marsh. He is survived by mother, Margie McKinney of St. Augustine; sons, Charles Chuck McKinney of San Antonio and Christopher (Jeanette) Lehman of Killeen; daughters, Brandy (GaryPaul) Monthei of Centerville, Melanie (Kevin) McKinney of Santa Fe and Melissa (Gume) De La Rosa of Riviera; fiance, Frances Daniels of Centerville and sister, Cynthia Louise Sister (Roy Lynn) McKinney of Centerville. Delbert was also proud PawPaw Delbert to twenty wonderful grandchildren, whom he adored.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of all arrangements.
