Daniel Lee "Dan" Rodell

April 1, 1939 — January 30, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Daniel Lee "Dan" Rodell. Born on April 1, 1939, to Rudolph "Teddy" & Mae (Farris) Rodell, in beautiful Leon County, Dan led a life deeply rooted in the values of faith, hard work, and family.

Dan resided in Leon County for his entire life, immersing himself in the community that he loved dearly. Fueled by an unwavering commitment to his faith, he found solace and purpose as a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville, Texas.

Through the years, Dan diligently pursued various avenues of employment, leaving a lasting impact in his wake. From his days behind the wheel of eighteen-wheelers for Continental Bakery, to his dedicated service to the City of Centerville, and finally, back to driving for the Hostess Company, Dan's work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him.

However, it was in his role as a rancher that Dan found his true calling. The open fields and the quiet serenity of tending to his cattle brought him immense joy and contentment. He poured his heart and soul into this work, leaving an indelible mark on the land he loved.

Above all else, Dan's devotion to his family extended to his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He delighted in being a central figure in their lives, eagerly attending their various activities and offering unwavering support. He often remarked that his greatest joy was witnessing the accomplishments and growth of his beloved grandchildren, even into his later years.

Dan eternally joins both of his parents; wife, Beth Rodell; sisters, Mattie Mae Jones & Louise Hurta; and brothers, Teddy Ray Rodell & Adolph Rodell. He will be fondly remembered by daughters, Theresa Ann Heil (Randy) and LaKeitha Mae Bell (Dewayne), all of Centerville; grandchildren, Dana Heil, Grant Heil, Brad Bell (Leah), Brock Bell (Isabelle) and Brice Bell (Christi); great-grandchildren, Caden, Taylor, Kayla, Cheyenne, Maylee, Aylana, Emma, Staci, Layla, Braydon, Bayne, Luke, Lily, Halley, Gracie and Harley; sisters, Christine Dunn of Centerville and Donna Melcher (Bobby) of Cypress, as well as special caregivers, Laura Phillips and Tammy Johnson and numerous extended family and friends.

As we come together to say our final goodbyes, we invite friends, family, and community members to gather for the funeral services and ceremonies that will honor the life of Dan Rodell. These services, symbolizing the impact he made on all our lives, will be held 10 A.M., Monday, February 5, 2024 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Following the service, Dan will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery next to his beloved, Beth. A gathering of friends will take place Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
