Daniel Joseph Byrd, of Leona, Texas, was born on January 17, 2000 in Bryan, Texas and passed away April 23, 2021 in Bryan Texas. He was the youngest of three children born to parents, Johnny, Jr. & Frances “Fran” (Still) Byrd.
Daniel was a 2018 graduate of Centerville High School where he excelled in athletics. On December 4, 2020, he graduated with honors from Texas State Technical College in Waco. Following graduation Daniel soon became employed by the Fluor Company as a welder at the Oak Grove Power Plant in Franklin, Texas.
Daniel will most certainly be remembered for his “infectious smile” – a smile that lit up the room when he entered – a smile that gave away his outgoing personality and sense of humor. He was the life of the party and loved being with his friends. He was a friend to people of all ages and treated them all with great respect and devotion. Daniel loved hard with every part of his being. There was no halfway and no turning his back on a friend in need. Daniel’s niece, Evelyn, was his pride and joy. He was most proud and honored to wear the title “Uncle Dano.” Daniel was a life-long resident of Leon County and was baptized at Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church in Centerville.
Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Joseph Still, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Floyd “Kenneth” Robinson, and uncle, Frank Joseph “Frankie” Still, Jr. Surviving family members include parents, Johnny, Jr & Fran Byrd of Leona; siblings, Channing A. Byrd (Ethan Bain) of Louise and Johnny E. Byrd, III (Kailey Carrigan) of Centerville; maternal grandmother, Agnes Mae Still of Denham Springs, LA; paternal grandmother, Brenda S. Robinson of Centerville; aunts & uncles, Belinda Horsley (Freddie) of New Roads, LA, Donald L. Still (Melissa) of Livingston, LA, Robert A. Byrd (Teri) of North Zulch; Michele Delgado of Madisonville, Dorothy M. Harris of Huntsville and Philip Harris of Franklin and niece & nephew, Evelyn Rose Foust and Joseph Long, V. Daniel is also survived by a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
