Charlotte Burkett, age 67, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away at her home following a long battle with C.O.P.D. and the onset of pneumonia in the last few weeks of her life. She was born Charlotte Ann Elms on October 10, 1949, in Rolla, Missouri to her proud parents, Floyd and Dorothy Elms, who preceded her in death.
Charlotte held many different jobs in her life but will be remembered most for the time that she spent as a over the road semi-truck driver. She was given the nickname Truck driving Grandma by two of her grandsons in their younger years. During her last few years, Charlotte took great pleasure in caring for her dogs as well as other animals that found their way to her doorstep.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Richard Alcorn and his wife, Ricci of Nixa, Missouri; her daughter, Vonda Alcorn of Azle, Texas; her son, Rusty Alcorn of Watauga, Texas and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in Topeka, Kansas (per Charlottes wishes) at a later date.
