Charlie James Fishbeck was born September 25, 1948 in Richmond, Texas to Charlie Bernard & Albina Elizabeth (Vacek) Fishbeck. He was a 1967 graduate of Needville High School and attended college at Wharton Jr. College. Charlie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He loved his job and retired from NRG as a heavy equipment operator after thirty-six years. Charlie had lived in Jewett since 1984 coming from Fairchilds, Texas in Ft. Bend County. He was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Centerville. Charlie also loved his cows and keeping them well fed—a little too well fed in some people’s opinion. Charlie treated his cattle good, and he considered them more like pets than livestock. He also enjoyed his John Deere tractor and riding his fence lines on his backhoe. He loved spending time with his family and absolutely adored each of his grandchildren.

Charlie passed into the arms of his Lord August 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and infant niece, Jeannette Marie Seiler. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Karon Fishbeck; children, Clayton James (Dan) Fishbeck of Prosper, Jennilee Ann (Michael) Page of Jewett and Victoria Allyn (Kyle) Futrell of Marquez and siblings, Jeannette Marie Seiler of Fairchilds, Donald Wayne “Skeeter” (Peggy) Fishbeck of Richmond, VA, Virginia Ann Hajdik of El Campo and Barbara Elizabeth (Larry) Beier of Athens. Charlie is also survived by grandchildren, Megan, Melanie & Maci Page and Averi, Keaton & Emeri Futrell along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
