Carl W. Collins, Jr. of Centerville, Texas died Friday, July 12, 2024. 

He is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terry" Collins and her sons, Jake Longnecker and Laikan Blanz. Carl is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Annika Collins, and his grandchildren, Bailey and Barrett Collins of Dripping Springs, Texas. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. Collins, Sr. and Mavis Jean Hill Collins of Baytown, Texas. 

Carl was born on April 6, 1953. He was a graduate of Lee High School, class of 1971. Carl honorably served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, submarine qualified. He was assigned to the 4th Marines in San Diego, California, followed by the USS John Adams in Kittery, Maine, and finally at the Navy Hospital, NAS Dallas in Grand Prairie, Texas. Carl worked for the Exxon refinery in Baytown for thirty-one years before retiring to Centerville where he enjoyed volunteering for the Leon County Office of Emergency Management. Carl was an enthusiastic amateur radio operator (NT5CC) and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. 

Carl was a husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, and he will be missed.

A memorial service will take place at the Leon County Courthouse on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1 P.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
