Brenda Idol, age 68, of Buffalo, passed away on December 10, 2017 at her home in Buffalo. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church in Centerville.
Brenda Katherine Hayes Idol was born on March 10, 1949 in Pasadena, Texas. Her parents were William Stanley and Kathy Bunch. She grew up in Pasadena and worked for most of her life as an Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Brenda enjoyed every moment of her job. She was a natural born caretaker and took great pleasure in helping others in need. Brenda was also an Licensed Minister of the Assembly of God Church. She worked persistently for seven years taking classes at night to achieve this aspiration. In her free moments, Brenda liked to make jewelry.
Brenda had a stubborn streak at times and was known for not taking no for an answer. This strong-willed determination, and her faith in God, allowed her to overcome many obstacles and health challenges throughout her life. Brenda had lived in Buffalo for the past thirty-two years and was a member of Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; half sister, Michelle Smith and half brother, John Stanley. Surviving family members include husband, Tony Idol of Buffalo; son, William Shane Hayes of Escondido, CA; daughter, Shawna & husband, Officer Mitch Rector of Buffalo; brothers, Tyson Gwyn of California and Michael Stanley of Houston; and sister, Susan Eubanks of San Diego, CA. Brenda is also survived by grandchildren, Amber and husband, Sgt. Chris McNulty, Ashley & husband, Landon Mayfield, Christian Rector and Colton Rector and great grandchildren, Cayden McNulty and Cailynn McNulty.
Brenda was a bright woman who let the light of God shine through her, and she touched all those who came in contact with her. Therefor, her family requests that those who plan to attend the service please wear bright and colorful clothing. Brenda loved bright colors and the service will be a celebration of Brenda’s life—not a sad occasion—for she is now with her Lord and Savior!
