Bonnie Martin, age 80, of Groesbeck, and formerly of Buffalo, passed away on March 26, 2017 in Groesbeck following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Donald Whisenhunt will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Dew Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Bonnie Louise Martin was born on July 12, 1936 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Lloyd Leroy & Mary Ann (Weiss) Harsin. She owned and operated her own beauty shop and later worked together with Connie Lathrop in a beauty shop until her retirement. Bonnie had a green thumb and could grow anything. She enjoyed doing all sorts of craft projects and had a fondness for a cold Dr. Pepper served on ice. Bonnie held a compassion and empathy for the less fortunate and did what she could to help others in need. She was an active member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Buffalo and had lived in Buffalo for most of her life.
Bonnie was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, James Vann Martin; infant twin daughter; five siblings & a great grandchild. Her surviving family members include daughters, Cleo Freeman (Doug) of Buffalo and Jamie Kinder (Michael) of Willow Springs, N.C.; sister, Tina Jensen of Henderson, NV; five grandchildren and one great grandson with one great granddaughter on the way.
