Billy John Fathke passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2018.
Billy John was born July 30, 1940, in Temple, Texas and was raised in McGregor, Texas by his parents Larry and Alvis Fathke. He graduated from McGregor High School and attended Tarleton State College and Sam Houston State College. He was a die hard fan of Texas A & M. He was a proud veteran, serving four years active duty with the United States Air Force.
Always athletic, he excelled in baseball, football and track (winning state in the 440 in 1957). He was also an avid hunter, spending time in South Dakota with family doing just that, and was also a fisherman and golfer.
He retired from American Porcelain in 2003, after being with them for 35 years.
Singing in the choir at Hilltop Lakes Chapel was how he chose to serve his Lord.
He is survived by two loving sons, John David Fathke and Michael Ward Fathke & Karla; brother L.H. Fathke; grandchildren Victoria Baker, Cole Merrick and Grant Michael Fathke and one great-grandchild.
A Memorial Service for Billy Fathke is set for 11 AM, Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the Hilltop Lakes Chapel and will be officiated by Rev. Tony Taylor, pastor of the church. A luncheon will be served following the service.
