Billie Lee Hardin was born March 24, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Urban Lee & Rosalie (Smith) Hardin. He dropped out of school at a young age to be able to contribute an income to his family. Billie served his country in the U.S. Army and retired as a welder for the Weatherford Company. He enjoyed hunting and had a wide variety of guns. He also liked working on cars and was a jack of all trades. There wasn’t anything that Billie couldn’t fix. Billie’s children will always fondly remember his deep, baritone voice that quickly got anyone’s attention and his genuine love for his family. Weather you were family by blood or by choice never mattered to Billie. Once you were his family it was for life.

Billie passed away June 21, 2021 in Caldwell following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by son, Gary Burgess and Stacy of League City; daughters, Sleta Rossignol of Highlands, Brenda Lee Hardin of Pennsylvania, Stephanie Romero of Highlands and Theresa Burgess of Pasadena; brothers, Robert David and Shirley Hardin of Lovelock, NV and Richard Hardin of Alvin and sisters, Patricia and Kerry Elrod of Houston and Lois and Ken Shields of Corsicana. Billie is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the Hardin family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
