Anna Lee Comer

Anna Lee Comer, devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, passed away May 9, 2019 in Centerville, Texas exactly one month after her seventy-eighth birthday. She was born in Houston, Texas April 9, 1941, an only child to H. Russell & Katie Mary Iomi (Lynch) Davis.

Anna Lee was raised in Houston. She married James “Buck” Comer, and they resided in Houston until 1986, after which, they made their home in Centerville, Texas. Many fond memories were made at this home. It is the place where the whole family would gather to enjoy Anna Lee’s wonderful cooking, admire her beautiful flower beds, or perhaps sneak a few of the great tasting vegetables out of Anna Lee’s vegetable garden she raised every year. Whatever the reason, all were welcome at Anna Lee’s home—especially children.

Anna Lee adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made a point to be in attendance at each of their births, totaling nineteen all together! She enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles and had spent many an hour putting puzzles together with her grandkids. Anna Lee also loved birds including a cockatiel she raised for a number of years and grew very fond of.

Anna Lee was preceded in death by both of her parents; best friend, Jean and grandson-in-law, Randy Joseph Winslett, II. Surviving family members include husband, James “Buck” Comer of Centerville; daughters, Donna Masters (Gerry) of Tomball & Danita Reed (John) of Madisonville; son, Derek Comer (Hope) of Huntsville; grandchildren, Stephanie Winslett, Chris Masters, Brandi Miller (Greg), Cory Parkey (Taylor), Kyle Comer (Bonnie), Ashley Comer & Peyton Comer; step-granddaughter, Alyssa Crump, as well as, great-grandchildren, R.J., Matthew, Russell & Isaiah Winslett, Katie Rogers, Adam, Prudence, Madaline, Relynn & Jeremiah Miller and Ayden & Addie Comer. Anna Lee is also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Dwayne Comer (Carla) and sister-in-law, Beverly Manning (Craig).

Funeral services for Anna Lee will be held 2 P.M., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville with burial following in Centerville Cemetery. Pastor Wade Phillips will officiate the service. The Comer family will receive friends Sunday, May 12th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
