Alma Gore

July 20, 1926 — November 30, 2023

Alma Gore, beloved mother and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, at the age of 97 in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Born on July 20, 1926 in Long Lake, Texas to Roy & Florence (Walston) Raines and married to the love of her life, Audrene Gore on July 6, 1943,  Alma led a life filled with love, family, and joy. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her.


Affectionately known as "Mam" to her family, Alma was the center and heart of her loved ones. Her warm smile, gentle demeanor, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She brought comfort and nurturance to her family, all of whom adored her deeply.


Alma had many talents and passions throughout her life. She had a knack for creating delicious dishes in the kitchen, and her family was always grateful recipients of her mouth-watering recipes. Alma's love for quilting was unparalleled, and she spent countless hours crafting intricate quilts for her grandchildren and beautiful baby quilts for her great-grandchildren. Each stitch served as a testament to her creativity and love.


In the company of loved ones, Alma found genuine joy. Whether playing games of dominoes, cards, or engaging in lively rounds of skip-jack, the laughter and togetherness of these moments brought her immense happiness. Her kind and compassionate spirit will forever be etched in the memories of those fortunate enough to have joined her in these treasured moments.


Alma was preceded in death by husband, Audrene Gore; both of her parents; brothers, Pete Raines and Howard Stevens and sister, Thelma Warren.


Those left to cherish Alma's memory are children, Bobby Gore & wife, Susan, Keith Gore and wife, Cindy and Terry Hastings and husband, Scott; brother, Vernon Raines and wife, Dee; grandchildren, Jennifer Mabe and husband, Chris, Steve Hastings and wife, Brandi, Heather Kitchens and husband, Chad, Carly Becka and Emily Gore and partner, Wyatt Tall; great-grandchildren, Tyler Kitchens and Sady, MaKenzie Kitchens, Kamry Kitchens, Kade Hastings, Karsyn Hastings, Blayke Hastings, Sara Mabe, Alexander Mabe, Justice Becka and Keifer Becka and great-great-grandchild, Vance Kitchens.


A funeral service to honor Alma's remarkable life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 1 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Rev. Bobby Wayne Burleson will officiate the service. Please join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of this extraordinary woman. Following the service, Alma will be laid to rest in a peaceful burial in Stevens Cemetery next to her late husband, Audrene Gore.

Alma's absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, boundless generosity, and genuine warmth.


May her gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those she leave behind.
