Zelma Jeanette Moore

Zelma Moore, age 91, of Centerville, passed away December 29, 2018 in Centerville. Funeral services are planned for 2 P.M., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Interment will be in Parker Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County. A brief visitation will take place Thursday, January 3rd from 12 Noon to service time at the funeral home.

Zelma Jeanette Moore was born June 19, 1927 in the Siloam Community of Leon County, Texas; the only child of Randolph Buchannan & Ruth (Jones) Moore. She lived the majority of her life in the Siloam Community, spending a brief period of time residing in Ft. Worth where her husband was employed. Deciding that city life was not for her, Zelma and her husband decided that he would commute every week to the city and she would stay and take care of the home and farm. She worked for the Centerville Leisure Lodge, now known as Centerville Healthcare Center, for eighteen years as a nurses aide. When Zelma had completed her work day, she would then come home to take care of the livestock. This continued for nearly thirty years until her husband’s retirement.

Zelma enjoyed riding horses and took very good care of the cattle on her farm. She was a natural born caregiver, doting and proud mother to her two children, devoted homemaker to her family, and loving “Ma” to her grandchildren.

Zelma was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Fred Moore; son, Randy Moore and grandson, Ali Aghaei. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rita & George Aghaei of Centerville; granddaughter, Lisa Aghaei of Centerville and great grandson, Cameron Aghaei of Austin.
