Glenwood H. Deiss, age 85, of Buffalo and formerly of Houston, passed away on August 24, 2017 in a Fairfield, Texas nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas. There will be no public visitation.
Glenwood Deiss was born on April 28, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Herman & Bertha (Kemper) Deiss. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as an accountant in the oil industry. Glenwood was very active in his children’s lives, especially when all three of his boys were in Eagle Scouts. Additionally, he and his wife loved traveling to various places all over the world. Glenwood had lived in the Buffalo area for the past three years, coming from Huntsville and was Lutheran in faith.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his eldest son, David Deiss, in 2014. Glenwood is survived by loving wife, Patricia Deiss of Fairfield; sons & daughters-in-law, Phillip & Mary Deiss of Houston, Alan & Laurie Deiss of Buffalo and Karen Deiss of Mansfield; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
