Evelyn (Ellis) Ingram was born May 18, 1935 in Centerville, Texas. She was one of eight children to Aubrey Theron, Sr. & Maggie Mae (Watson) Ellis. She was a graduate of Centerville High School. It was during her younger years that a love for volleyball was fostered that continued years past her time in high school.
Evelyn was a woman continuously on the go. She enjoyed taking trips to Louisiana and Las Vegas, NV to the casinos and going to amusement parks. All destinations were considered an adventure and Evelyn was always ready to go when a friend or family member called to invite her on a trip. Evelyn was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved going to Dallas to watch them in action. She also enjoyed the company of her cats and listening to country music. Evelyn had attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Centerville, Texas.
Evelyn passed away December 10, 2019 in Madisonville following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was eighty-four years old. Evelyn was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Paul A. Ingram and siblings, Harold D. Ellis, William T. "Bill" Ellis, A.T. “Pinkey” Ellis, Jr., Milton Ellis, Mildred Ellis & Virginia Shatto. She is survived by brother, Ray Ellis & wife, Maudie, of Centerville and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great, great nieces & nephews, as well as a host of friends.
Memorial services for Evelyn will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Pastor Darrell Stein will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 340, Centerville, Texas 75833.
